About the Foundation
We, the members of the late Mr. A.A.M. Marleen’s family, friends and associates, were keen observers of his legacy of social activism, humanitarian projects, and many contributions to our great nation. In continuing his dream and legacy, we have decided to inaugurate this Foundation to take forward his vision.
The Tsunami that took place in South East Asia took many lives of our nation’s population, setting us back decades. Lives were lost, loved ones displaced, homes were destroyed, and a way of life was lost. While many organizations came to aid the country and provide relief during this time, there is still much work to be done.
The vision
The vision of the A.A.M. Marleen Foundation is to provide a backbone of support to the local community through the establishment of the Give Light Home Orphanage and the Community Services Complex, and create a source of stability and growth in a community that lives in substandard conditions with minimal resources.
Mission
The site of the Foundation comprises an Orphanage Home, a Jummah Mosque, a Free Healthcare Clinic and an Educational & Vocational Institute, with a Community Services Center and Store Fronts still to come. Through the creation of these resources, we hope to continue in the legacy of AAM Marleen in promoting social activism, humanitarian projects, and contributions to our nation. We will provide a source of light and pave the path for a new enriched and fulfilling way of life for the needy community in Athulugama, Sri Lanka.
Our organization is 100% volunteer based, and your donations are used to benefit the needy with absolute minimal administrative costs.
