A visit from the President of Give Light Foundation

Dian Alyan, President of Give Light Foundation, USA, visited Give Light Home in Sri Lanka from 20 to 22 June 2014. The children marked the visit with three days of events.

Day 1: events and a competition. The children welcomed the President of Give Light, and the youngest boy handed her a bouquet. There was a drill display and a Qaseeda. The judges were the President of Give Light, the Principal of Al Gazalli Central College and the Primary Principal. Prizes were handed over by Dian Alyan, Director of AAMMF Fazal Lafir, Director of Operations Sheroon, Administrating Officer Murshid, Najeeb Hajiyar and the Principal, and Fazal Lafir gave the vote of thanks. The day ended with lunch and a farewell to Hilmy and Fathima Zariha Hilmy.

Day 2: a cricket match. A cricket match was organized for the children between the Red, Blue and Green teams, with spectators from the village. Dian Alyan talked to the teams, and there were trophies for the winners: the championship trophy, and trophies for the best bowler, the best batsman and the man of the tournament, with individual medals.

Day 3: a picnic. A day out in Colombo, at Galle Face, Independence Square and Nelum Pokuna.
