Community Services Center
The Community Services Building will include a Banquet and Conference Hall that will be used for functions, lectures, seminars and other local events for the community.
With a hosting capacity of 1,200 people at any given time, the center will attract large gatherings, promote awareness, and serve as a foundation of support to the community around it. Members of the community can rent the hall for weddings and family functions, or the city can use the hall for town hall meetings, conferences and other large scale educational seminars for the greater community. In addition, in the event of a disaster, the two story hall, with its separate upstairs bathrooms and storage facility, could be used as a disaster relief site for distribution or to serve as a shelter. The funds from the rental of the Banquet and Conference Hall will serve as additional revenue for the upkeep of the facility and the operational costs of the medical clinic.
The Community Services Center will provide support, assistance and guidance, and pave the path for a new enriched and fulfilling way of life for the needy local community of Athulugama, Sri Lanka.
Storefronts
The Foundation will also build three rentable storefronts, in hopes that the project will sustain itself to its fullest capacity, relieving the necessity of fundraising for its operations. The consistent monthly income the storefronts bring, in addition to the revenue that the Banquet and Conference Hall generates, will be used for the Mosque’s and Community Center’s upkeep, operations and maintenance expenses.
